History/Overview
The Owensboro Family YMCA stands behind its mission to provide services and programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We are a not-for-profit United Way agency that turns no one away due to an inability to pay.
Our two facilities have state-of-the-art fitness and cardio-vascular equipment, whirlpools, saunas and swimming pools. We offer free drop-in childcare, aerobic classes, spinning classes, circuit training, fitness assessments and fitness training to all of our members.
Our programs include continual year-round swim instruction for ages 6 months on up, lifeguard certification classes and ongoing aquacise classes. Childcare programs include a licensed after school program, “Holiday Camp,” summer day camp, Kid’s Nights Out, Parent’s Day Out, Preschool, Family Fun Nights and our new sport camps.
We also offer tee-ball leagues, indoor KinderKickers, adult basketball leagues and tournaments, annual 5K and 10K runs, Y Wee Dance & Tumble classes, a Monday morning Bible Study group, arts & craft classes and Gym & Swim for home-schooled children in our community.
