Overview The original Paris-Bourbon Co. YMCA building was constructed in 1915. The facility includes an outdoor pool, added in 1970; the Lillie F. Webb Indoor Swimming Center, built in 1983; a gymnasium and running track, constructed in 1980, and locker rooms. The child care program is housed in a building next door. Plans are underway for a new addition to house a wellness center, multipurpose rooms, program areas, storage and an elevator tower connecting the two buildings.
Our Numbers With more than 3,200 members and 4,000 program participants, the Paris-Bourbon County Y offers a variety of services through its child care, youth sports, recreational and fitness programs.
The preschool and after school programs annually serve 1,200 children ages 3 to 8. More than 685 children participate each year in the YMCA soccer, football, basketball and swim team programs, while another 200 attend the SuperFun and Little Acorn Day Camp programs during the summer.
The Y's outdoor pool serves the entire community, with more than 5,000 swimmers using the pool each summer at a nominal fee. Swim lessons are free.
Our Future Since its founding in 1850, the Paris-Bourbon County YMCA has been an important part of the community's life and history, helping to build character in children through programs that teach the YMCA Core Values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility. As children are the future, continuing these values-based programs will help to ensure the future of Paris and Bourbon County for yet another 153 years!
