Overview Hopkins County Family YMCA strives to develop teen programs that enhance leadership skills and enable youth to be productive members of society.
Currently for middle-school students, we offer a Jr. Y Leaders program that encourages leadership and service to the community. We also offer YWOLF (Youth Working on Leadership and Fitness), a program for at-risk high school students. YWOLF is designed to assist teens in creating alternative solutions to the challenges they face.
During the summer months, we offer a free Summer Rec. Program that provides games, sports, crafts and lunch for youth ages 2 to 18 from low-income areas.
The future focus for our teen programs is to build collaborative relationships with youth service centers, guidance counselors and other community agencies to enhance program services and to reach the rural communities of our county with outreach teen programs.
